David Ray MarquisEAST WENATCHEE - David Ray Marquis, 49, a 28-year East Wenatchee resident passed away at his home in East Wenatchee on Monday morning, March 7, 2011, following an extended illness. He was born on May 25, 1961, at Fort Lawton, WA, the son of Richard and Veda (Epperson) Marquis. He spent his first three years growing up in Honolulu, HI, before his family moved to Yakima. He attended the Broadway and Stanton Elementary schools, Lewis and Clark and Eisenhower High Schools and the J.M. Perry Technical College in Yakima. He was married to Patricia M. Villarreal in October of 1981, in Yakima. They remained in Yakima until moving to make their home in East Wenatchee in 1982. David went to work as a Salesman and later became a Manager for Consolidated Electrical Distributors "CED" in Wenatchee. On December 6, 2003, he was married to Kathryn L. Bird in East Wenatchee. They have since made their home together in East Wenatchee. In 2008, David went to work as Project Manager for Riverview Electric in Wenatchee. He especially enjoyed his family and helping his family and friends, as well as barbecuing, cooking, going fishing and hunting, the outdoors, reading and sci-fi movies. He also loved his times in Cabo, Mexico.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn L. Marquis of East Wenatchee; three children, Andrea (Gregory) Henn, BreeAnne Marquis and Sean Marquis, all of East Wenatchee; two step-children, Jamie McIntyre of Kikland and Hunter Jones of East Wenatchee; his mother, Veda C. Marquis of Yakima; and four grandchildren, Ava Henn, Dominic Webb, Evyn Webb and Madilynne Marquis-Fitsch, all of East Wenatchee. He also leaves behind, Ray Cerrillo of Wenatchee, who was like a faher to him. He was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Jean Marquis; and three bothers, Richard Wayne Marquis, Joseph Lee Marquis and Gerald Win Marquis.

A Commemorative Service was held on Friday, March 11, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Eastmont Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Kentucky, East Wenatchee, with Pastor Jim Deal officiating.
